This Gavi from the Deltetto winery is a classic representative of the Gavi region . This white wine impresses with its straw yellow color, its floral and fruity notes, its elegance, freshness and well-integrated acidity. It is powerful and structured on the palate with a good finish. The Cortese grapes for this Gavi are picked by hand in September and fermented in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank after destemming and pressing.
Then the expansion also takes place in the stainless steel tank . After a year and a short bottle storage, the wine is then put on the market. This Gavi is a perfect combination with antipasti, crustaceans and shellfish. Also very good as an aperitif. The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next two years.
The producer: Deltetto
Carlo Deltetto took over the management of the winery from his father Tonino a few years ago. As it has become tradition in Piedmont, Carlo is also supported by the whole family. His parents and also his two sisters hold important functions in the winery.
Founded in 1953 by Carlo Deltetto, the grandfather of the current owner, the winery is located in the middle of the municipality of Canale. The company has grown steadily over the following decades, and today Deltetto is an established player in the region.
Deltetto has made a name for itself for the production of high quality white wines, dry sparkling wines and autochthonous red wines. The Roero Arneis grape variety is widespread in the area around Canale due to the nature of the soil, and the white wines are made from this grape variety the flagship of the winery. Incidentally, Roero Arneis is one of the few wines whose taste cannot be felt on the tongue, but only on the palate. The Nebbiolo has also found a home in the Roero area and Carlo Deltetto produces a Barolo Parussi single-site wine as well as a Nebbiolo D'Alba, as well as the Roero wine, which can only be found in this area. The Deltetto winery operates organic viticulture.
