    The quality-oriented winemaker from Barbaresco

To say Marco Rocca is a traditionalist almost sounds like an understatement. He is a person who is totally influenced by the history, the tradition and the culture of his region. This shows in his daily work and in the vineyard and in the wine cellar. Because Marco follows the ancient traditions of Piedmontese winemaking. In the production of his wines, he almost completely dispenses with modern technology.
The fermentation takes place without temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and only with natural yeast. As before, Marco uses open wooden vats for the fermentation of the must. He uses a large wooden spoon to stir the mash during mash fermentation. A very strenuous and time-consuming process indeed, but it extracts more color and polyphenols. Marco does not use heavy equipment in the vineyard and almost all work is done by hand with the aim of having healthy and ripe grapes available.
Only then does Marco have the opportunity to press high-quality and long-lasting Barbaresco single-vineyard wines. The winery is certified according to Fair'n Green, which strives for a sustainable economic system, in in which the economic, ecological and social aspects are equally taken into account.
