Solidarity among the sisters
The Ca del Baio winery is located in the Tre Stelle area of the Barbaresco production area and has catapulted itself to the top of the Barbaresco producers in recent years. In 2016, Guilio Grasso was named Winemaker of the Year chosen by the renowned wine magazine Gambero Rosso. Giulio accepted this great award on behalf of the entire family. Because Ca'del Baio is a true family business and has been run by the Grasso family for four generations.

The top women-run winery in Barbaresco
In recent years, the daughters of the Grasso family - Paola, Federica and Valentina - have taken over the winery from father Giulio and mother Luciana. These three women are well versed in all aspects of the business, from pruning the vines, working in the wine cellar to presenting their fantastic wines internationally. Through the concentrated woman power and positive feminine energy, Ca' del Baio is gaining more and more reputation and stature. You can sense and feel the strong bond within the family with every visit to the winery.
This feminine energy is certainly also reflected in the Barbaresco wines, which appear particularly harmonious and soft. Although the family's focus is on producing high-quality Barbaresco single-vineyard wines, the winery has also made a name for itself for authentic Dolcetto, Barbera and white wines such as Chardonnay and Riesling. The winery is certified according to Fair'n Green, which strives for a sustainable economic system in which ecological, economic and social aspects are equally taken into account.
