The Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2022 is an excellent example of the quality and craftsmanship of the Massolino family. This wine reflects the typical characteristics of Nebbiolo, but with a slightly more accessible and fruit-forward approach, making it attractive to younger drinkers as well.
The berries for this Nebbiolo come from various family vineyards in the Langhe. The wine is aged in large oak barrels for a year. The wine is then stored in the bottle before it goes on sale.
On the nose you can expect aromas of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, complemented by floral notes and a hint of spices. On the palate the wine shows an elegant structure with fine tannins and a lively acidity that makes it fresh and appealing.
Although the Langhe Nebbiolo is generally less complex than a Barolo, it still offers a beautiful depth and balance. A "small Barolo" for everyday enjoyment at a small price!

The Massolino Vigna Rionda winery is without doubt one of the ten best in the entire Langhe region. The Massolino siblings are showered with praise by wine critics and the international press alike for their world-class wines, from the classic Dolcetto to the high-quality Barolo single-vineyard wine. Founded more than 100 years ago in Serralunga D'Alba, Massolino Vigna Rionda has remained a family business to this day and is run by the fourth Massolino generation, Franco, Paola and Roberto. The guiding principle for all Massolino wines is reflected in a very clearly defined production philosophy: a precise product that fully reflects the characteristics of the fruit and the terroir. The Massolino Barolo and Barbaresco wines embody the best that this grape variety has to offer: long-lasting wines with great fruit density, complexity and power. All of this perfectly combined with incredible finesse and elegance.
As a wine for the whole meal, it is best when paired with rich and tasty dishes, from fresh pasta seasoned with rich meat or vegetable sauces to red meat dishes, grilled or roasted. Also goes well with cheeses, from soft to delicate blue cheeses
