An impressive Barolo single-vineyard wine with complex aromas, great elegance, harmony and balance.
This powerful Guido Porro Vigna Lazzairasco Barolo DOCG dry red wine 2014 has many outstanding properties. Starting with its pleasant scent of red and black berries and floral notes. Earthy aromas also impress. The wine has good substance, warmth and elegance with ripe tannins and a lingering finish. It is truly an impressive Barolo. All the more because its indescribable elegance and harmony is rather rare in this growing area.
The vines, which are 45 years old on average, are located in a south-eastern position on a steep slope called Lazzairasco, which belongs to the Cru Lazzarito and is considered one of the top locations in the municipality of Serralunga D'Alba and beyond.
The grapes for this Barolo are harvested by hand in October and carefully selected for further processing. They are then immediately destemmed and pressed in the nearby wine cellar. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a 2-year aging in large oak barrels, followed by a year of bottle aging. The Barolo is ready to drink immediately and for the next 15+ years. The wine goes well with roasts, lamb, grilled or roasted red meats and aged hard cheeses. Guido Porro does not use any herbicides or pesticides in the vineyard and no additives when making the wine.
