Partially dried black and red berries on the nose, tobacco and dried leaves, notes of liquorice. Quite juicy fruit on the palate with notes of cocoa, coffee and liquorice. Crumbly, sandy tannins, good persistence, has power. Very good, initially tart, then clearly more fruity finish. Very good Barolo.
The Gianetto vineyard is south-west facing at an altitude of almost 250m, just outside the municipality of Serralunga D'Alba. The harvest is done by hand with immediate destemming and soft pressing of the grapes in the winery.
Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in large Slovenian oak barrels for 24 months. After all, the wine is stored in the bottle for almost a year before it is sold. Goes perfectly with roasts, game and red meat, as well as mature cheese.
