San Giovanni is a historic vineyard in the municipality of Monforte D'Alba. The Alessandria wine family owns 2.5 hectares of vineyards with an excellent exposure.
During the manual harvest in October, only the best berries are selected for processing. These are then fermented in the winery in a temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation tank. The subsequent malolactic fermentation also takes place in a stainless steel tank. The wine is then aged in barriques, both in new barriques and in used barrels. This process takes at least 24 months and at the end of the maturation the Barolo is stored in the bottle for 4-6 months.
The density and concentration of this Barolo single-vineyard wine is impressive on the palate. The tannin is firm and well ripe. This Barolo impresses with fruity and spicy aromas that alternate with balsamic notes. The wine has a perfect balance between the present acidity, the tannin and the alcohol. The finish is persistent with a spicy note. A top Barolo with good development potential!
