An elegant Barolo with fine, harmonious tannins, has a lot of bite, fullness and depth. A fine wine with a lot of potential!
The Alario winery owns a parcel on the Cru Riva Rocca in the municipality of Verduno. Due to its orientation, this vineyard enjoys intense solar radiation and guarantees high quality grapes. These are read by hand in mid-October and carefully selected for further processing. After destemming, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
The aging then takes place in used barriques and lasts 2 years, followed by 1 year in bottle. Only then does the Barolo go on sale. This wine has a garnet red color with violet reflections and a complex aromatic profile. It is tightly woven, velvety and shows a youthful bite with a pleasant fullness. In addition, there is a present, fine-grained tannin with a light spice in the finish.
Claudio Alario Riva Rocca Barolo 2019 DOCG is an excellent accompaniment to roasts, game and red meat dishes. It is ready to drink immediately and for the next 15+ years. The winery uses neither herbicides nor pesticides in the vineyard and no additives in the wine production.
