The grapes for the Colle Tortonesi Cortese white wine come exclusively from the vineyards of the winery in Montagnola, which are located in the beautiful hilly landscape of the municipality of Viguzzolo. The Cortese is very popular in this growing area because the soil conditions are particularly good for high-quality Cortese wines.
The grapes are hand-picked in boxes of 15 kg each in mid-September. This is followed by a soft pressing of the berries, followed by cold static decantation and fermentation of the clear must at a controlled temperature of 18ºC.
The wine then ages on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 6 months; after bottling, it is refined in the bottle for about 3 months before it is sold.
This Cortese has a bright straw yellow color and impresses with fine, intense notes of white peach, citrus fruits and sage blossoms on the nose. The taste is full-bodied and balanced, with good structure and density and well-integrated acidity. As a meal companion we recommend
Meat or fish appetizers, fried fish, stuffed vegetables, also excellent with cream cheese. Drinking window: immediately and the next seven years.
