  • The Ca' del Baio Barbaresco Vallegrande 2020 DOCG is a high-quality and traditionally produced Barbaresco that impresses with its elegance.

The winery owns various plots on this site, totaling 3 hectares. From these vineyards, which are located around the winery, comes the most traditional Barbaresco of the family, which is aged exclusively in large oak barrels, as in the past. It best expresses the elegance of the wine without showing the muscles of the Nebbiolo.

The grapes are hand-picked in October and carefully selected for vinification. The traditional red fermentation of the destemmed grapes takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and the grapes remain on the skins for 7-15 days. The wine then ages in large Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months. It then remains in the bottle for a further 6 months before being released on the market.

The Barbaresco Vallgrande has a garnet red color, an intense bouquet with enveloping notes of fruit, dried flowers and scents of undergrowth. The palate is warm, velvety and very harmonious. The fine-grained tannins are pleasantly present and the warm finish lingers.

The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next 10+ years. It goes very well with veal and lamb, red meat and mature cheeses.

The renowned Ca'del Baio winery is located in Treiso in the Barbaresco growing region. Ca'del Baio is a family winery that can trace its roots back to the late 19th century. Federica, Paola and Valentina are already the 4th generation of Grasso to run the family business and have made it one of the most respected in the region. The winery has vineyards in the best locations in the area, which offer perfect conditions for growing high-quality Nebbiolo grapes, which form the basis for Barbaresco.

Vallegrande goes very well with braised meat, lamb, veal and mushroom pasta dishes.
