This Barolo Bussia Bricco Visette has ancient origins. There are documents that describe the cultivation of Nebbiolo in the Visette area as early as the 12th century. The name "Visette" itself derives from the dialect expression "vis" (vine) and means small vine. The Bricco Visette vineyard is a sub-zone belonging to the famous Bussia vineyard.
The Nebbiolo grapes are hand-picked in October each year and only the best grapes are used for processing. Spontaneous fermentation takes place with native yeast and maceration on the skins usually lasts twenty days. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels of various sizes for aging. This maturation process takes place over a period of thirty months. Finally, the Barolo Bussia Bricco Visette is stored in the bottle for another six months at a controlled temperature of 15°C.
This Barolo has an elegant, persistent and spicy bouquet with notes of red fruits such as raspberry, currant and pomegranate. On the palate it is rich, balanced with a fine tannin structure and good balance. A great Barolo with great development potential. Our suggested pairings are: Red meat roasts, game, truffle dishes and aged cheeses.
The winery operates organic viticulture.
