Jancis Robinson, MW: "A refined Barbera with lots of tension and balance that you can't get away from."
The grapes for Sara Vezza Sara Vezza Barbera D'Alba Superiore Villar'o 2019 DOC come from a vineyard in the Villaro vineyard, which belongs to the production area of the municipality of Monforte D'Alba.
The hand picking of the grapes usually takes place in October and the carefully selected berries are lightly pressed and destemmed. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 30°/ 32°. Then the aging begins, which takes place in barriques for the wine and lasts 12 months. Finally, the wine is then stored in the bottle during the final phase of aging.
Fine, woody scent of pine cones, mushrooms and wild strawberries on the nose. Good density and structure with delicate spices that warm up the palate. Seductive, silky tannins.
