"Classic fruity play with spice and a smoky note, then cherry; fine drinking flow with sweet fruit, length and an animating delicacy on the finish."(Weinwisser) Drinking maturity: Now-2035
The grapes for the Luca Marenco Barolo 2016 DOCG come from two different vineyards in the two neighboring municipalities of Barolo and Novello. During October of each year, the grapes are harvested by hand and very carefully for the further use selected. The grapes are then destemmed and gently pressed at Luca's winery in Novello. The next step is fermentation, which is carried out in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank.
The wine is then aged in large Slovenian oak barrels and lasts 18 months. After six months of bottle storage, the Barolo finally goes on sale. This wine has complex aromas, is rich in extracts, dense and powerfully woven on the palate with firm tannins, pleasant acidity and a good length in the finish.
The Barolo goes very well with game and red meat, but also with risotto and mature cheese. It is ready to drink immediately and for the next 15 years.
