  • An excellent single-vineyard wine with finesse, complexity and a diverse aroma spectrum.

The Nebbiolo grapes from which La Vedetta Barbaresco Ca' Grossa 2018 DOCG are made come from the vineyard of the same name, which is the heart of the winery's Nebbiolo production. This cru offers the best conditions for the Nebbiolo grape variety due to its southeastern orientation and its soil composition, limestone with a large proportion of sandstone. Not to forget the microclimate. The proximity to the Tanaro River and the presence of trees and hazelnut groves guarantee a particular acidity of the grapes, which expresses a pronounced freshness and juiciness in the wines.

The Nebbiolo grapes are hand-picked during October and then the grapes are destemmed and lightly pressed. The following fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and then maturation takes place in oak barrels over a period of almost 2 years. After aging in bottles, the Barbaresco finally comes onto the market.

The typicality of this Barbaresco single-vineyard wine is reflected in the very delicate aroma with hints of red fruits, spices and violets. On the palate, the fine-meshed tannins are pleasantly present and enveloping. This Barbaresco impresses with its finesse, complexity and balance with great development potential. Drinking window: 2022-2034

La Vedetta is the German/Italian winemaker couple Marco and Swantje, who took over 3.5 hectares of vineyards in Treiso, in the heart of the Barbaresco growing region, from Marco's uncle. Since 2017, the two have been facing the challenges of sustainable viticulture and have quickly made a name for themselves for authentic terroir wines that tell their story.

This Barbaresco goes very well with braised meat such as osso bucco or wild boar ragout. Also with lamb and veal. With risotto with porcini mushrooms or pasta with truffles.
