An excellent single site wine with finesse, complexity and a diverse range of aromas.
The Nebbiolo grapes from which the La Vedetta Barbaresco Ca' Grossa 2018 DOCG are pressed come from the vineyard of the same name, which is the heart of the Nebbiolo production of the winery. This cru offers the best conditions for the Nebbiolo grape variety due to its south-east orientation and its soil composition, limestone with a large proportion of sandstone. Not to mention the microclimate. The proximity to the Tanaro river and the presence of trees and hazelnut groves guarantee a particular acidity of the grapes, which expresses a marked freshness and juiciness in the wines.
The Nebbiolo grapes are handpicked during October and then the grapes are destemmed and lightly pressed. The following fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and then the aging takes place in oak barrels over a period of almost 2 years. After a bottle storage, the Barbaresco finally comes on the market.
The typicality of this Barbaresco vineyard wine is reflected in the very delicate aroma with a hint of red fruits, spices and violets. On the palate, the fine-meshed tannins are pleasantly present and enveloping. This Barbaresco impresses with its finesse, complexity and balance with great development potential. Goes very well with lamb, white meat and mature cheeses. The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next 12 years.
