  • The grapes for the 2022 Dolcetto D'Alba DOC Le Ciliegie come from two different Manzone family vineyards, both located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. There, the growing conditions for the Dolcetto vines are very advantageous due to the soil composition with sandy limestone and layers of red clay.

After the hand harvest, which takes place in mid/late September, the berries are destemmed and lightly pressed. Spontaneous fermentation then takes place with native yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers in order to obtain a rich fruit with a high drinking flow. The wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks. After the refinement is complete, the final wine is bottled on the waning moon.

This Dolcetto country wine has a wonderful freshness paired with notes of red berries, violets and blackberries. On the palate it impresses with its liveliness and rich fruit with pleasant tannins and well-balanced acidity. A classic Dolcetto that brings a lot of joy! Drinking window: 2023-2026

The Manzone family runs a family winery whose origins date back to the 19th century. However, actual wine production only began in 1965 under Giovanni Manzone, the father of the current owner Mauro. Mauro then joined the company in 2005 after successfully completing his oenology studies. The family follows an artisanal philosophy, personally oversees all processes and practices nature-friendly agriculture without insecticides or fertilizers. The wine is made without intervention, with manual work from pruning to bottling. The vineyards with the renowned Castelletto and Gramolere sites, high and steep, produce concentrated and long-lasting Barolo wines.

This dolcetto goes very well with fresh pasta and legumes, spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce; Focaccia sliced salami, Sardinian pecorino, salted black olives; fresh ricotta cheese.
