The Gianfranco Alessandria Barbera D'Alba 2021 DOC is an excellent example of the quality that the Monforte D'Alba region has to offer. The careful hand-picking in September guarantees that only the best grapes are used for production. The subsequent fermentation in temperature-controlled fermentation tanks ensures that the fresh aromas are perfectly expressed.
The dominance of red fruits such as cherry, blackberry and strawberry gives the wine a fruity character, while the six-month aging in stainless steel tanks gives it a pleasant freshness and a velvety mouthfeel. The well-balanced acidity and medium-strong body make it an ideal accompaniment to various dishes. A classic Barbera that is not only delicious, but also offered at an attractive price!

The family-run winery Gianfranco Alessandria is located in the heart of the Barolo municipality of Monforte D'Alba. Gianfranco is now the third generation to run this small winery with the great support of his wife Bruna and his daughters Marta and Vittoria. The vineyards are all located in a south-eastern orientation in the magnificent Gran Cru location of Monforte D'Alba. This geographical situation enables the production of particularly elegant, long-lasting Barolo wines with first-class structure and freshness. “The wine is made in the vineyard”. This philosophy, which is based on nature and the moon, is the Alessandria family's top principle for their daily work.
Barbera goes well with pasta with meat sauces, pizza with a variety of side dishes, grilled sausages and grilled or baked chicken.
