The vineyard area of the Chionetti Dolcetto Dogliani DOCG Briccolero 2021 is located southeast within the larger San Luigi vineyard at almost 400m above sea level.
A good forty years ago this vineyard area was planted with Dolcetto vines. The Chionetti family has been producing this high-quality Dolcetto ever since.
The grapes are usually picked by hand during September. After destemming, the must goes into an open wooden vat to ferment. For maturation, the mash is then aged in a cement tank and, depending on the vintage, also for a shorter period of time in a large oak barrel. Before the Briccolero goes on sale, it is stored in the bottle for a few months. This wine has organic certification and is not filtered.
This Dogliani has an intense crimson color. The nose is reminiscent of black berries and balsamic and spicy notes. In the mouth it has good acidity, which combines harmoniously with firm tannins. It appears structured, dense and warm. A beautiful Dolcetto!
