    Sustainability and Quality

The Monchiero winery is located in the beautiful Barolo village of Castiglione Falletto.  Vittorio and Daniela Monchiero, together with their two sons Stefano and Luca, run the family business founded by Vittorio's father and uncle.
They produce a range of Cru Barolo wines, but also Nebbiolo and other wines native to the region. Although the Mochiero wines are also highly rated internationally, this small family business is still a secret.

From Langhe insider tip to international Barolo producer

It all began in the 1950s when the brothers Remo and Maggiorino from La Morra decided to practice winemaking and bought a few vineyards in Castiglione Falletto. In doing so, they laid the foundation for the next generation and the current owner Vittorio then took the scepter in his hand in the 70s. It has been a long journey for Vittorio and his wife Daniela from humble beginnings to becoming an internationally recognized Barolo producer.
Today, the winery practices integrated viticulture and does without the use of chemical agents and substances in the work in the vineyard, as well as in the wine production in the wine cellar.
The family's goal is to produce sustainable wines from healthy vines and therefore the focus is on the greening between the rows of vines and the soil to add humus and organic fertilizers. Vittorio is a Barolo traditionalist and produces classic Baroli made with fermented for a long time and then aged in large Slovenian oak barrels.
