The grapes for this Nebbiolo come from various family vineyards, all of which are located in the municipality of Monforte D'Alba.

The grapes are usually hand-picked in October and the carefully selected berries are lightly pressed and destemmed. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 30 ° / 32 °. Then the expansion begins, which takes place for the wine in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels and lasts 18 months. Finally, the wine is then stored in the bottle in the final phase of maturation.

The Nebbiolo smells of dark red roses and wild cherries, but earthy and mineral notes also complement the variety of aromas. On the palate you can feel the whole race, purity and elegance of this wine. This actually so "simple" Nebbiolo exudes such purity, balance and charm that it is very drinkable. Compliments to Sara!

The producer Sara Vezza

The drive to the Josette Saffirio / Sara Vezza winery from Monforte takes you along a serpentine path that makes you wonder whether you are on the right road at all. But when you arrive you can see that the winery is located in one of the most valuable places in the Barolo wine region. The winery is to the east across from Serralunga d'Alba, which is known for its clayey soils that produce deep, strict baroli with an incredible longevity. To the west is Castiglione Falletto, with its calcareous, sandy soil and elegant baroli. The winery itself is located on the edge of the Monforte d'Alba wine-growing region.

The winery founded by Josetta Saffirio is managed by Josetta's daughter Sara Vezza, who produces both Josetta Saffirio's wines and her own Sara brand Vezza oversees.

Sara, endowed with a lion heart and a deep understanding of the area in which she grew up, is totally devoted to two things: her family (she is the mother of four) and the production of sustainable, terroir-based wines. She is the fifth generation of a farming family from this region and has an indestructible connection to the earth.

The winery operates organic viticulture.
