The Roberto Ferraris Barbera d'Asti Nice 2018 DOCG impressively underlines the potential of the Barbera berries. A quality wine in a class of its own.
Fullness, density, balance, complex aromas and a long finish! A wine for special occasions.
The Nice is made from the winery's best and oldest Barbera grapes, which are carefully selected during the manual harvest in September. These grapes are then immediately transported to the cantina, destemmed and gently pressed. The fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and then the wine is aged in French barrique barrels for 18 months. A nine-month bottle aging follows before the Nice is sold.
This Nice is very powerful and full-bodied and impresses with its very well integrated acidity. Its range of aromas is very varied and complex. From berry to balsamic to spicy and earthy. There is a beautiful balance between alcohol, tannins and acidity. The long-lasting aftertaste leaves a pleasant feeling in the mouth. This Nice is ready to drink immediately and for the next 20 years. A perfect accompaniment to roasts, game, red meat and mature cheeses. The winery practices integrated viticulture and uses no herbicides, fungicides and pesticides in the vineyard and no additives in wine production.
