The Roberto Ferraris Barbera D'Alba Superiore La Cricca 2018 DOCG is made from the best Barbera grapes of the winery, which are carefully selected during the manual harvest in September. These grapes are then immediately transported to the cantina transported, destemmed and gently pressed. The fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and then the wine is aged in French barrique barrels for a year. This is followed by six months of bottle storage before the Barbera goes on sale.
This high quality Barbera has a ruby red color with violet reflections. Its complex spectrum of aromas ranges from fruity and berry to balsamic and spicy. The wine impresses with its density and structure, has fine tannins and excellently integrated acidity. Its reverberation is beautifully long with a pleasant, slightly spicy tone. La Cricca is ready to drink immediately and for the next 15 years. A wonderful accompaniment to roasts, lamb, game and red meat. The winery practices integrated viticulture and uses no herbicides, fungicides and pesticides in the vineyard and no additives in wine production.

The Roberto Ferraris winery, founded in 1923 by Stefano Ferraris, is located in Agliano Terme, one of the best Barbera-growing areas in the Monferrato of Piedmont.
Roberto's father planted 10 hectares of Barbera vines that are now over 70 years old. Roberto is one of the best connoisseurs of Barbera production in Piedmont. He enjoys an international reputation as one of the best Barbera producers.
Today the winery produces about sixty thousand bottles of wine. Roberto produces four different Barberas from his noble grapes. He also produces an excellent Nebbiolo which we also sell here at Babarolo.

The winery produces about 60,000 bottles a year including four different Barberas - from an excellent table wine to towards a "Nice" which is one of the best wines of Piedmont.
