An excellent Barbaresco with great potential for development.
The grapes for the Piero Busso Barbaresco San Stunet 2012 DOCG come from different plots of the winery. These are the Crus San Stunet and San Stefanetto, both found in the municipality of Treiso. Located at 400m altitude and south-west facing, the Busso family owns a 1.2 hectare vineyard planted with middle-aged vines.
In October, the grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented in wooden barrels. Then the wine matures over a period of 18 months both in barriques and in large oak barrels. After the Barbaresco has been stored in the bottle for half a year, it is sold. The wine is ready to drink immediately, but it can only really develop its great potential over the next 15+ years.
Its outstanding characteristics are the very spicy but also fruity aromas, its structure and body combined with great elegance. This Barbaresco goes very well with lamb, red meat and game. The Busso family of winegrowers practice organic viticulture.
