A wonderful Barbaresco with complex aromas, elegant but powerful and with a lot of substance on the palate. Ripe tannins and great potential.

The Albesani-Borgese Cru is located on top of a vineyard within the municipality of Neive. The plot of the Busso family extends in a south-eastern position at a good 300m above sea level. The Barbaresco from this cru is characterized not only by its elegance but also by its powerful and structured taste.

The grapes are harvested by hand at the beginning of October and carefully selected for further processing. After destemming, the grapes are lightly pressed and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The expansion then takes place in large oak barrels over a period of 18 months. After all, the wine is stored in the bottle for half a year before it is sold.

This Barbaresco Albesani has a garnet red colour, fruity, mineral and spicy aromas. It impresses with its elegance, balance, full-bodiedness and its long finish. A wonderful accompaniment to roasts, game and red meat dishes. The wine is ready to drink immediately, but if stored correctly, it can develop and retain its great potential over several decades. The winery operates organic viticulture.

THE PRODUCER: PIERO BUSSO

The Piero Busso winery was founded by Piero Busso's father in 1953. Piero's family takes care of all facets of wine production and sales. His wife Lucia, his daughter Emmanuela and his son Pierguido all work in the family business. The winery is surrounded by vineyards in the picturesque village of Neive in the Barbaresco region. The winery produces around 45,000 bottles of wine annually on its 10 hectares.

All the Busso vineyards are located in the best areas of the Barbaresco - Albesani, Gallina and San Stunet. From these parcels, the winery produces three Barbaresco Cru wines. Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo wines are also part of the product range.

The family believes that the wine should reflect the terroir.
