The grapes for this Monchiero Langhe Nebiolo DOC 2020 come from a Nebbiolo vineyard that is still in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, but is already outside the Barolo zone and therefore the wine is classified as Langhe Nebbiolo.
Handpicking for this Langhe Nebbiolo takes place in normal weather conditions from early to mid-October. The grapes are then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and subsequent maturation takes place in large Slovenian oak barrels. Depending on the vintage, this process takes eight to twelve months and finally the wine is stored in the bottle for a few more months.
The result is a very balanced Langhe Nebbiolo with fruity aromas, good structure and a fine freshness. Present, but supple tannin with well-balanced acidity promise longevity and a lot of enjoyment. This wine is drinkable immediately and during the next eight years. Goes very well with meat dishes.
