The vineyards from which the grapes for the 2020 Roero Arneis come are located in the municipalities of Vezza d'Alba, Piobesi and Monteu Roero. One of the elements that characterize the landscape of Roero are the Rocche, steep elevations that cut through the area from southwest to northeast and separate the continental soils based on river gravel, sand and clay from the soils of marine origin, where the vines are ideal find conditions.
The harvest takes place at the end of August/beginning of September and the hand-picked grapes are kept in cold storage for a few days. The best grapes are then selected on a special shaking table before they are pressed until soft. The must is transferred to stainless steel tanks where fermentation is carried out at a controlled and low temperature. The wine is also matured in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains in these tanks on the fine lees for 2-3 months with frequent batonnage. As a rule, the Roero Arneis is bottled at the beginning of the new year after the harvest and goes on sale.
This Roero Arneis has a pale straw yellow color in the glass with greenish reflections. On the nose it is delicate, fresh, herbaceous and rich with notes of white flowers and fruits reminiscent of pears. Round in taste, harmonious with good structure and fullness. The finish is persistent with a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Served slightly chilled, it best expresses its freshness. Drinking window: 2023-2028
