On the nose, the Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 DOC red wine is delicate and pleasant, with dominant notes of raspberries and violets. During the aging process, the secondary aromas then more and more resemble those of Barolo.
The family has been producing this Nebbiolo annually since 1970, which has so many characteristics of a Barolo wine. The grapes for the Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2019 DOC come from different vineyards and are carefully selected for further processing.
Hand picking takes place in the second half of October. After the berries have been destemmed, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured in large oak barrels and this process usually takes 12 months. The subsequent bottle aging, which is usually 6 months, takes place in dark and cool storage rooms provided for this purpose.
On the palate, the Nebbiolo presents its wonderful elegance and great harmony. The tannin is finely woven and the lingering finish impresses. A great wine reminiscent of Barolo!
A wine that harmonises with almost all dishes in a meal. Especially with rich and spicy dishes with meat or vegetable sauces. Also very good with grilled or fried meat dishes. This Nebbiolo is to be enjoyed immediately and for the next 6 years.
Massolino helped shape the history of Barolo from the very beginning. Today the winery is one of the most important producers in the Langhe.
