Classic Dolcetto with great freshness and liveliness. Lots of fruit on the palate, dense and structured with round tannins. Very successful!

The grapes for this Dolcetto wine come from a vineyard of the Borgogno family in Barolo, which is planted with middle-aged vines. The harvest is done by hand at the beginning of September, and the grapes are immediately afterwards in a temperature fermented in a controlled stainless steel tank. The short maturation also takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a 3 month bottle storage. Only then does the wine go on sale.

This Dolcetto wine has a deep red color, fresh, fruity notes and pleasantly substantial tannins. On the Guamen it is dense, structured with a lot of liveliness. A truly classic Dolcetto. It is very suitable as an aperitif, with starters, salami, pasta and pizza. The Dolcetto is ready to drink immediately and for the next five years. The winery operates integrated viticulture.

THE PRODUCER: SERIO & BATTISTA BORGOGNO

The Serio & Battista Borgogno winery has been on the upper part of the Cannubi vineyard, one of the absolute top locations in the entire Barolo wine-growing region, since 1897.

But the family history began in the middle of the 19th century with Cavalier Francesco Borgogno. He produced his own wine, which he then sold in his wife's inn in Barolo. From his son Ludovico, his sons, Serio and Battista, inherited some land and a small farmhouse in Cannubi. With wise foresight, they managed to make your dream of your own winery a reality. Over the years they bought more plots from the Cannubi vineyard and eventually owned 3.5 hectares of this valuable land.

All their lives, Serio and Battista have worked tirelessly to fully exploit the enormous potential of the winery. They have created the basis for the next generations. Today the Cannubi Cru is one of the best locations in the entire Barolo area.

The memory of Serio Borgogno, who died in 2016, lives on in the vines and in the passion that he gave his family in the cradle. His granddaughters, Emanuela and Federica, are now the fifth generation to run the iconic winery. The family produces around 60,000 bottles of wine annually. In addition to Barolo, there are also Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo wines.
