A beautiful Barbera with a lot of suppleness, good drinking flow and a very good quality / price ratio.

A classic Barbera D'Alba, which stands for daily drinking pleasure. The Barbera grapes from which this wine is produced come from very old vines. When the berries have reached optimal ripeness, the hand picking begins in mid to late September. Then the grapes are destemmed, pressed and then fermented in a large wooden vat. The aging period in large oak barrels is 18 months, followed by six months of bottle storage. Only then does the wine go on sale.

The outstanding features of this Barbera Superiore are its pleasantly fruity, berry notes, the well-integrated acidity, as well as the beautiful smoothness and density on the palate. The Barbera goes best with poultry, lasagna and pasta Combine salsiccia (sausages). The Barbera is ready to drink immediately and for the next ten years. The winery does not use any herbicides, fungicides or pesticides in the vineyard and no additives in winemaking.

THE PRODUCER: SERIO & BATTISTA BORGOGNO

The Serio & Battista Borgogno winery has been on the upper part of the Cannubi vineyard, one of the absolute top locations in the entire Barolo wine-growing region, since 1897.

But the family history began in the middle of the 19th century with Cavalier Francesco Borgogno. He produced his own wine, which he then sold in his wife's inn in Barolo. From his son Ludovico, his sons, Serio and Battista, inherited some land and a small farmhouse in Cannubi. With wise foresight, they managed to make your dream of your own winery a reality. Over the years they bought more plots from the Cannubi vineyard and eventually owned 3.5 hectares of this valuable land.

All their lives, Serio and Battista have worked tirelessly to fully exploit the enormous potential of the winery. They have created the basis for the next generations. Today the Cannubi Cru is one of the best locations in the entire Barolo area.

The memory of Serio Borgogno, who died in 2016, lives on in the vines and in the passion that he gave his family in the cradle. Today the winery is run by his granddaughters, Emanuela and Federica. You are already the 5th generation of this iconic winery. The family produces around 60,000 bottles of wine annually. In addition to Barolo, there are also Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo wines.
