The Moscato Bianco has a great tradition in the municipality of Canelli and is the flagship of this winery. Gianni, the owner, is a convinced traditionalist, has been cultivating the winery without heavy equipment, biodynamically for decades and describes his horse as his closest employee in the vineyard.
The grapes for Moscato D'Asti DOCG come from the municipality of Canelli, where the Forteto della Luja winery owns 4.5 hectares of vineyards. The soil composition with predominantly calcareous marl and the southeast, south and southwest orientation at an altitude of over 400 meters above sea level offer the best conditions for producing healthy and ripe berries. The entire vineyard has been terraced and the vines are trained and pruned by hand.
The harvest usually takes place in early autumn and the ripe grapes are selectively and gradually harvested by hand, placed in small crates, pressed immediately and fermented with varietal yeasts specially selected by the winemaker. When the desired residual sweetness is reached, the wine is chilled, stabilized and bottled cold in heavy Borgognotte bottles, as tradition dictates. The label also has a traditional design that comes from the winery's archive.
Moscato D'Asti has a straw yellow color with golden reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. The fragrant floral aromas, characterized by sage and honey, are impressive. In terms of taste, you can feel the intense aroma, the delicate sweetness, which is balanced with a very pleasant, light acidity. A classic Moscato D'Asti that brings a lot of joy!
Serve cold at a drinking temperature of 8 - 10°C. Traditionally enjoyed with desserts such as pastries, apple and hazelnut cake. But also perfect as an aperitif with canapès.
