This Barolo from the legendary location Cerequio convinces with its elegance, balance and warmth. The powerful tannins are beautifully balanced, and the variety of flavors ranges from fruity, berry to balsamic notes. Not to forget the great storage potential.

In 2006, Flavio Saglietti acquired 3000 square meters in the legendary location of Cerequio. The Cru Cerequio is located on the eastern side of the vineyard in the municipality La Morra, called Bricco del Dente, which with 553m above sea level is the highest vineyard in this area.

Flavio's Barolo Cerequio is characterized by balanced aromas, elegance, structure and warmth . The powerful, but very well integrated tannins are also typical of this vineyard. These Baroli have a high aging potential.

The grape harvest takes place during the month of October and after a careful selection the grapes are picked by hand. After destemming and light pressing, they are then fermented in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank . The Barolo is then expanded for 24 months. Of these, 12 months in large oak barrels and then a further 12 months in barriques. At the end there is a 12 month bottle storage before the wine is then put on the market. A great Barolo that is now ready to drink and for the next 20+ years. A wonderful accompaniment to game, roasts, red meat and mature cheese.

THE PRODUCER: FLAVIO SAGLIETTI

The small Saglietto winery does not have a tradition that spans generations, but has continued to develop since it was founded and is now one of the insider tips in La Morra. The winery is now run by Flavio, who joined the company founded by his father Giacomo in the late 1990s.

The Saglietti winery is idyllically located in a small hamlet, Bricco del Dente, which belongs to the Barolo municipality of La Morra . Flavio Saglietti cultivates eleven hectares of land there, which is planted with native grape varieties. Here the Nebbiolo dominates, but as is usual in the Barolo area, Dolcetto and Barbera wines are also produced.

The figurehead of the artisanal winery are the outstanding Barolo single-site wines of the crus Brunate and Cerequio. These two crus have a legendary reputation among wine connoisseurs and it is rather unusual for a small winery to Own plots in these prestigious locations.

Flavio Saglietti produces his wines in a traditional style in wooden barrels , but also uses the barrique barrel for aging in certain vintages. The winery has been running organic viticulture since Flavio took over the leadership.
