A harmonious Barolo with fine tannins, good structure and diverse aromas.

The Nebbiolo grapes for this Barolo come from a south-east facing vineyard in the municipality of La Morra. The old age of the vines of almost sixty years means that the grapes are of great quality. In late autumn, the grapes are picked by hand and after they have been transported to the nearby wine cellar, they are detached and fermented in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank. The aging then takes place in large oak barrels over a period of twenty-four months. The Barolo is only available on the market after the bottle has been stored for a long time.

This Barolo is a full-bodied wine with fine-grain tannins, good structure, tension and length. Fine fragrance with earthy spice, plus balsamic and fruity notes. The wine is already well developed and ready to drink immediately with good aging potential. A good accompaniment to game, red meat, risotto and mature cheese.

The producer: Fabio Oberto

Fabio Oberto worked from an early age in his father Andrea's winery and learned from him on the way that, in addition to the manual skills, he should practice the profession of winemaker, love and passion for nature and live in harmony with it and working is essential to produce sustainable and high quality wine.

A few years ago, Fabio stood on his own two feet and founded the La Collina di Dioniso winery. Like his father's, the winery is located in the Barolo municipality of La Morra and Fabio has taken over the family's vineyards there, which are mainly planted with middle-aged Nebbiolo vines.

Although Fabio has only been an independent winemaker for a few years, his authentic wines have already attracted my attention. He lets himself be guided by his passion for the local wine culture and tradition in order to produce wines that are sustainable but will also represent the future of the Piedmontese wine landscape. Fabio is one of the guards of the so-called young winemakers who will have a decisive influence on the wine scene in Piedmont.
