A harmonious Nebbiolo with fruity and spicy aromas and good drinking flow.
The grapes for this Nebbiolo come from a vineyard called I Lioni, which is located in a small hamlet of the same name and which used to be the seat of the Deltetto winery.
The Nebbiolo berries are picked by hand in the second half of October and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel barrels. The aging then takes place in large oak barrels and takes a year. After a short bottle storage, the wine is then put on the market.
This Nebbiolo is characterized by its typical garnet-red color, its spicy and fruity notes, as well as its elegance and harmony. It goes very well with pasta, poultry or as an aperitif. The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next ten years.
The producer: Deltetto
Carlo Deltetto took over the management of the winery from his father Tonino a few years ago. As it has become tradition in Piedmont, Carlo is also supported by the whole family. His parents and also his two sisters hold important functions in the winery.
Founded in 1953 by Carlo Deltetto, the grandfather of the current owner, the winery is located in the middle of the municipality of Canale. Over the following decades, the company has grown steadily, and today Deltetto is an established player in the region.
Deltetto has made a name for itself for the production of high-quality white wines, dry sparkling wines and autochthonous red wines. The Roero Arneis grape variety is widespread in the area around Canale due to the nature of the soil, and the white wines are made from this grape variety the flagship of the winery. Incidentally, Roero Arneis is one of the few wines whose taste cannot be felt on the tongue, but only on the palate. The Nebbiolo has also found a home in the Roero area and Carlo Deltetto produces a Barolo Parussi single-site wine as well as a Nebbiolo D'Alba, as well as the Roero wine, which can only be found in this area. The Deltetto winery operates organic viticulture.
