The grapes come exclusively from the family's 40-year-old vineyards, located near the winery. This red wine is a cuvée consisting of 70% Barbera grapes and 30% Croatina grapes . The dry red wine variety Croatina originally comes from southern Emilia Romagna and has a long tradition in the Colle Tortonesi cultivation area.
The grapes are harvested by hand in boxes of 15 kg each and after crushing and destemming, maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature and frequent pumping over for about 10 days. Also 18 months takes place in stainless steel tanks and another 12 months in the bottle. Then the wine goes on sale.
This has a full and compact ruby red color . The bouquet shows great breadth and finesse , with beautiful notes of plum, blackberry and pomegranate. The taste of the wine is full-bodied, soft and balanced. It goes well with stuffed pasta, red and white meats and medium-ripened cheeses.
Drinking window: immediately and for the next six years.
