The Ca' del Baio Barbaresco Vallegrande 2018 DOCG is an impressive and authentic Barbaresco that impresses with its balance and warmth.
The Grassos own various plots on this site, totaling 3 hectares. Due to the very good location, the Nebbiolo vines produce grapes of optimal ripeness.
The grapes are hand-picked in October and carefully selected for vinification. The fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and usually lasts up to 15 days. This is followed by a 30-month expansion in large Slovenian oak barrels. Finally, the wine is stored in the bottle for a further 6 months before it is sold.
The Barabresco Vallgrande has a garnet red colour, intensely fruity, spicy and floral aromas and a fine tannin structure. The palate is soft, velvety and very harmonious, the finish is long and slightly spicy. The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next 15+ years. It goes very well with veal, pork, red meat and mature cheeses.
The winery operates integrated viticulture.
