A fantastic Barbaresco with great balance and complexity
The grapes for this Barbaresco come from the Cru Ronchi, which has been in the family since the 1990s. The plot is located in the middle of the vineyard at almost 300m above sea level and runs in a westerly direction.
After hand-picking in October, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for a maximum of 20 days. The wine then matures in various oak barrels for the next 2 years. After six months of bottle storage, the wine is finally sold.
The wines from this location are characterized by their elegance and complexity. This Barbaresco has a finely knitted bouquet with berry fruits and balsamic notes. In the mouth with robust but appropriate tannins, composed very balanced. Long finish with a hearty note. A Barbaresco who has great class. The wine is ready to drink immediately and for the next 20 years. The winery uses no herbicides or pesticides and no ingredients in the winemaking.
THE PRODUCER: ALBINO ROCCA
The history of Albino Rocca began in the 1940s when the founder Albino Rocca started growing and selling Nebbiolo grapes to other wineries in the Barbaresco area. Then he started making wine himself and selling it in demijohns.
Angelo Rocca, Albino's grandson, took the winery to new heights and made it the successful company it is today. Unfortunately he passed away and the responsibility for the winery was left to his three daughters Daniela, Monica and Paola.
These three strong women, in memory of their father, have worked hard to build the winery's reputation as one of the best internationally, producing some of the finest Barbaresco wines.
The winery produces about 100,000 bottles from their 18 hectares of vineyards. The wine plots include the Crus Montersino, Ovello and Ronchi.
